- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups fresh spinach, washed and sautéed
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 4 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat 2 tbsp olive oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in ground meat and cook until browned. Break up clumps with a spatula.
- Add sautéed spinach and mix well.
- Remove from heat; let cool slightly before adding feta cheese and beaten eggs.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the phyllo sheets brushed with remaining olive oil.
- Spread the filling over the phyllo layers and top with remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each layer with oil.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
