Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (about 200g)
  • 2 cups chopped apples (about 250g) – use a mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g) – adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water (120ml)

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries under cold water, removing any stems or blemished berries. Core, peel, and chop apples into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and water. Stir gently until well mixed.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Cook for about 10 minutes until cranberries burst and soften.
  4. Reduce heat slightly and let simmer for another 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving warm or chilled.
