  • 1/2 cup Guinness stout
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter until smooth. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Remove the melted butter from heat and stir in the Guinness stout, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, pipe cream cheese frosting onto each cupcake.
