Instructions

  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and black food coloring until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and fold gently until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, frost generously with buttercream frosting and decorate as desired.
