  • 1/3 cup pure honey
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping the onion and mincing the garlic.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then sear until golden brown on both sides (about 5-6 minutes per side).
  3. Add chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until translucent (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. In a bowl, mix honey and BBQ sauce together until smooth. Pour this mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
  5. Sprinkle rice evenly over the chicken, then carefully pour chicken broth around the edges of the pan without disturbing the sauce.
  6. Bring to a gentle boil, cover with a lid, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until rice absorbs most of the liquid.
