  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • For the topping: 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. 1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. 2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and eggs along with the yeast mixture; stir until combined.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. 4. For the caramel topping, melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat; stir until smooth. Add heavy cream and simmer for 2 minutes before removing from heat.
  5. 5. Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  6. 6. Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into slices. Place in a greased baking dish over the prepared caramel topping mixed with chopped pecans.
  7. 7. Let rise again for about 30 minutes while preheating oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
