  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/8 inch rounds
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté the chopped onion until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. In a bowl, combine heavy cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese; mix until smooth.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in the greased dish, pour half of the cheese sauce over them, then repeat with remaining potatoes and sauce.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
