- 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/8 inch rounds
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté the chopped onion until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- In a bowl, combine heavy cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese; mix until smooth.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the greased dish, pour half of the cheese sauce over them, then repeat with remaining potatoes and sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
