- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
- 2 green onions, chopped
- ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips. Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces and mince garlic and ginger.
- Heat a wok over medium-high heat until smoking. Add vegetable oil and let it shimmer.
- Sear the beef strips in the hot wok for about 3-4 minutes until browned but not overcooked. Remove from the pan.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the wok and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the cabbage to the wok with soy sauce and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until wilted but still crunchy.
- Drizzle sesame oil over the stir fry, add green onions and red pepper flakes if desired. Toss to combine.
