  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine the pitted cherries with ½ cup sugar and lemon juice; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, oats, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar. Add melted butter and stir until crumbly.
  4. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan. Layer the cherries evenly on top.
