  • 12 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (good-quality)
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat; drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, half of the Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Begin layering: spread meat sauce in the dish, add noodles, then ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese, and basil. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
  5. Top with remaining meat sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan. Cover loosely with foil.
  6. Bake covered for 45 minutes; uncover for an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
