  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp sea salt (plus more for topping)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar with cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into a tart pan's bottom and sides. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  3. In a saucepan, melt brown sugar and butter over medium heat until bubbling gently. Gradually whisk in heavy cream until smooth.
  4. Remove from heat, add sea salt to taste, then stir in half of the chocolate chips until melted.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture into the baked tart shell and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
