  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 1 cup strawberry puree (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Chocolate frosting (for layering)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; whisk until blended.
  3. Add eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla to dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  4. Divide batter in half; fold strawberry puree into one half gently.
  5. Pour chocolate batter into one pan, vanilla into another, and strawberry into the last. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Layer as follows: chocolate layer first with frosting on top, followed by vanilla layer with more frosting, then strawberry on top. Frost the entire cake generously.
